  1. Things doctors & FDA have been wrong about the last 40+ years: eggs, low fat, sun block, processed grain foods, margarine, aspirin, salt, artificial sweeteners, soy/seed oils, sugar, pyramid diet, vitamins, herbs, CBD oil and many many more

  2. Sunshine, as in the sun is shining; or sunshine as in it's cloudy but it's daytime? Because here in NE Ohio, there are only about 2 months total of the year where there is sunshine, as in the sun is shining, AND it is not cold…how do we get our UV rays from the sun throughout the year? Does it matter if only our faces are receiving the rays?

  3. pile of horse shit, & sparingly factual.
Cigarettes in the sun isn't better.
Non-Melanoma cancers may have lower fatality rates, but are not worth risking cancer. Hey Doc, stop killing the US populous

  4. Dr. Mason,

You mentioned that people with skin cancer lived longer than people that have never had skin cancer.

Is it possible that this is due to the fact that people who have had any form of cancer will get regular and frequent medical check-ups for years after their diagnosis/cure, whereas many non-visibly sick people just don’t bother with precautionary check-ups? The result being that the non-skin cancer people end up dying from all of the usual conditions, and the post-cancer patients get these hidden conditions noticed and addressed before they become a killer issue.

  5. The more vitamin D you get from the sun the quicker you will die.
Japanese have the most pale skin in the world and they live the longest.
Japanese women have the highest life expectancy and because they AVOID the sun.
People with pale ghostly white skin live the longest because they receive the least harmful UV radiation.
People with darkest skin live the shortest because premature ageing from harmful UV radiation.
Freezing cold countries get very little sun do the best like Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Netherlands, Canada, Sweden. Sun accelerates aging. Cold temperatures slow down aging.
Harmful UV radiation from the sun is the major cause of premature ageing, sunburn, eye damage, and skin damage leading to skin cancer. Countries get the most sun on their skin live the shortest

  6. A small but important point – the bar chart showing fat ratio composition seems very wrong with regard to flaxseed oil. It shows very little omega 3 when in fact it's typically a 4:1:1 3-6-9 ratio.

  7. Excellent presentation! I really like the careful and nuanced approach to presenting data.
I've always questioned the emphasis on Vit D. It is an easy hormone to measure, but there may be many more sunlight effects that we are blind to.
A question: What skin surface area exposure is optimum for maximum effect?

  8. Thanks so much best sunlight presentation i have heard
I just do what my livestock do and wildlife on my farm kangaroos rabbits possums wombats goats cattle birds everyone is awake and grounded just before sunrise when sun gets to intense they all go for the shade by sunset i am dead tired just make it to bed and fall asleep No alient man made alien sun artificial light
If i do stay up after dark i use fireplace for heat and illumination i would be terrified of that fish oil to processed rater just eat the fish That processed vegetable oil i would never use it even for pesticide it would contaminate and upset perfect balance of beneficial insects

  10. OMG!!!!!! You have just given me the answer to what I have noticed has changed in my increased SUN EXPOSURE TOLERANCE….. I thought it was just due to ONLY being low carb high fat KETO but now I know it is also to do with my fish oil supplements – you have no idea how amazing this info is for me…. for years I have burnt in just 10 mins even at 7am of a morning living in coastal Brisbane recently I went to Toowoomba and walked around in the blazing sun for 6 hours in shorts but with a long sleeve cardigan and a hat and only ended up with a bit of sunburn at the tops of my calf muscles on the back of my legs. I am amazed!!!!!! You have provided me with such strong info to explain my experience. I used to suffer with lupus (1989) too but I over came that 10 yrs later too! This is a GREAT presentation and yes, I do understand association does not prove causation. THANK YOU xxx
