हलवा | Multi Flour Halwa Recipe | Great Source Of Energy | Healthy & Nutritious Halwa

Multi Flour Halwa is a great source of energy and its nutritional value increased by addition of chickpea flour and semolina.

5 wonderful benefits of Semolina:-

1.A serving of semolina or sooji also contains 5.3 grams of protein, which nourishes the skin and muscles. Semolina is naturally low in fat, and each serving contains approximately one-half of a fat gram.

2.Semolina enhances the intake of several B-complex vitamins, folate and thiamine. Collectively, B-complex vitamins support the metabolism and make sure that you can convert food into usable
energy. Thiamin also helps the brain and nerves function properly, as folate supports the red blood cell production.

3. Consume semolina as a source of the selenium. Selenium in the diet also strengthens the immune system to prevent the infection. A serving of semolina provides 37 micro grams of selenium, or 2-3rd of the daily intake, as advised by the Institute of Medicine.

4.Adding semolina to the diet also helps you reach on a daily basis recommended iron intake.

5. semolina is excellent for your heart as well. It improves your cardiovascular health and prevents heart attacks, heart failures, etc.

Benefits of Chickpeas:-
1. Helps Lower Cholesterol: Gram flour contains healthy unsaturated fats which help in lowering the cholesterol level of the body.

2. Controls Diabetes: Owing to its low glycemic index, it is a great food for diabetics. Use it in your rotis, paranthas as a replacement for flour. Glycemic index of chickpea is just 10.

3. Helps improve health of the heart: Besan has high soluble fiber content which is beneficial for the health of the heart. It is also endorsed by the Heart Care Foundation.

4. Healthy alternative for Gluten: Since besan does not contain gluten, it is a great substitute to wheat and other gluten containing grains, for those people who are allergic to gluten.

5. Helps getting rid of iron deficiency: Being rich in iron, consumption of besan on a daily basis can help your body recover from iron deficiencies like anaemia.

6. Useful in pregnancy: Gram flour is rich in folate, a vitamin which takes care of the foetus’ brain and spinal cord development and ensures a healthy well developed baby.

7. Helps during fatigue: Gram flour is a good source of the vitamin Thiamin which helps the body in converting food into energy.

8. Helps regulate mood and appetite: Besan is rich in vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 is an important component involved in the synthesis of the neurotransmitter serotonin. Serotonin plays an important in mood and appetite regulation.

9. Helps regulate blood pressure: The magnesium content of besan helps in maintaining vascular health and it also helps in the regulation of blood pressure.

10.Helps in strengthening of bones: The phosphorous in gram flour combines with calcium in the body to help in the formation of bones.

Ingredients :-
Gram flour/chickpea flour – 2 tbsp
Semolina/Sooji – 3 tbsp
Wheat Flour – 1/2 Cup
Clarified Butter – 1/3 cup + 2 tbsp
Water – 3 Cups
Sugar – 2/3 Cup
Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp
Dry fruits – almonds, cashews

Directions :-
Heat clarified butter in pan
Fry dry fruits and take them out in a bowl.
Add chickpea flour to the ghee and roast for 2 minutes.
Add semolina to pan and roast for another 2 minutes.
Add wheat flour and also add 2 tbsp clarified butter here.
Roast on medium flame till it turns golden brown.
Add hot water to it and mix well and keep stirring until all the water gets absorbed.
Add sugar and keep stirring.
Add cardamom powder once halwa starts releasing ghee.
Keep stirring when it will release more ghee in a pan.
Add fried dry fruits and serve hot in a bowl.
Garnish with some sliced almonds.
Multi flour halwa is ready to eat.

What is Vitamin-B12? Why Vitamin B12 test is performed? Learn About Serum Vitamin B12 Test – 2019

Serum B12 Test
This test is used to find out the conventional Vitamin-B12 levels in the blood.
What is Vitamin-B12?
Vitamin-B12 is an essential vitamin that is naturally present in milk, fish, meat, eggs, poultry, etc. It is also known as cobalamin. Vitamin-B12 is required for the body for the good health of the blood and nerve cells. It also helps in the synthesis of DNA which is genetic material in all cells.
Vitamin-B12 is absorbed by the body in 2 steps. At first hydrochloric acid in the stomach separates Vitamin-B12 that is attached to the food. Then it combines to the transcobalamin (TC) and haptocorrin (HC) which are proteins made by the stomach and form complexes called holotranscobalamin (HoloTC) and holohaptocorrin (HoloHC). HoloTC is also known as active-B12 as this is the only form of vitamin-B12 that is taken up and used by the cells of the body.
Why Vitamin B12 test is performed?
The Vitamin-B12 Conventional Blood Test is performed to check whether an individual is having normal or abnormal levels of Vitamin-B12 in the blood. The doctor may ask to perform this test if an individual is suffering from conditions like pernicious anemia (decrease in red blood cells as the body cannot absorb enough vitamin-B12), inflammatory bowel disease (inflammation of the digestive tract), Crohn’s disease (redness and swelling in the lining of the digestive tract), chronic alcoholism (heavy drinking of alcohol), liver disease, heart failure, obesity etc. This test is also done to determine the risk of developing anemia. If symptoms like decreased appetite, trouble walking, weak muscles, weight loss, fast heart rate, irritability, lack of energy etc are seen in an individual then the doctor may prefer to do this test. If an individual is on the treatment of vitamin-B12 then the doctor may ask to perform this test to evaluate and to check the effectiveness of the treatment and vitamin-B12 levels in the body. This helps the doctor to rule out the patient disease condition.
Generally, when a patient is diagnosed with liver disease, intestinal disorders or malnutrition visits hospital for a general check-up, the doctor may ask to undergo the conventional vitamin-B12 blood test which gives a better status of the condition. This test is also performed to provide a clear idea regarding the malnutrition, liver disease of an individual. Mostly, this test is done along with other vitamin tests to confirm the diagnosis.
• Overnight fasting is preferred
• Doctor’s prescription may be needed
• The normal test result may vary depending on gender, age, health history, etc.
• If you have been diagnosed with pernicious anemia, your doctor may advise you to get this test done once every 3 months to once in a year based on your clinical condition.
• Drugs containing estrogens, vitamin-A, and vitamin-C may affect the test results.
